Thailand’s plan to go nuclear is not going that well. People in the south Thai province of Nakhon Si Thammarat are not that impressed with the Thai safety record.
The Thai government has made a survey and most Thai are ok with Thailand building a nuclear plant but I most of them don’t want it in their backyard.
The problem is that the people in Nakhon Si Thammarat do not want the nuclear plant there and I can’t blame them really. Many times when the Thai Egat has built something they have simply ignored the environment and the local people.
They have staged protests outside the site of the planned plant and the government is scared it will escalate if they start building and do not have the local peoples approval.
