Thai Air wants to charge tourist more

We would like to give Vasing Kittikul, one of (to many) senior officials at Thai air the dumbest comments of the year award.
According to him the route Chiang Mai-Mae Hong Son should be more expensive for all none Thais. The price should go up from 1070 to 1500 THB for foreigners.

We already know that the Thai hotels have different prices for different people
Germans are prices different then other Europeans’, Americans are prices different then Europeans, Arabs have one price, and for the moment the Russian pay the most while Thai pay the least.
But to go out in public and talk about like Vasing Kittikul now did is really bad for business. Should this bright idea spread to international Thai air I am sure Thai air will lose loads of customers.

Foreigners living and visiting Thailand has long been dissatisfied with the double or ten double pricing some National Parks have and even people who pay Tax here in Thailand still have to pay the hiked up prices. I am sure people understand that discounts should be offered to people living in Thailand but to push a price up ten times more then a Thai person pay is just silly.

With these kind of comments the tourist that Thailand needs so much probably will pick another country to have a holiday in, one that does not look at them as a walking ATM.

I highly appreciated you bring up this issue as your well visited blog. It is a disgrace that certain people in higher positions publicly support discrimination and double-pricing. Thank you for your Blog
