The latest victim is a Japanese tourist in Phuket Patong that had to pay over 50 000 THB for a scratch on the Jet Ski. He contacted local police and they send a aid to the governor in Phuket. He finally agreed to pay 3000 THB, for nothing.
If you still want to rent a Jet Ski and they try to scam you think about this
They can never take you to prison it is not a criminal offense. They will have to sue you in civil court and that takes year and you do not have to show up or pay if you loose.
They should have a license and insurance they don’t so file complaint with local police.
They trying to scam you so file a complaint with the police.
If the police refuse to file a complaint call your Embassy and file a complaint against the police with another police.
The police in Pattaya and Phuket are into the scam but if you take the case to Bangkok police you will have more success.
But why go trough all this problems just read the first lines.
