Drinks don’t drive especially on Songkran Festival
April 15th, 2008 — Festivals, Travel Warning
The number of people who have died and injured during 7-dangerous-day of Songkran festival has been rose to 76 deaths and 1,013 injured. Do you know what the main reason that caused the accidents? We don’t have to ask the genius to get the answer because the answer has always been like this for several years, it is because of the alcohol. People love to drink during Songkran festival, there is no problem to drink during the celebration but the problem happens when the drunken people also drive as well.
It’s the problem that many people recognize about it but don’t want to do anything with it. The number of death people is in 3 days from 7-dangerous-day. So I can guess that the number of death people will be increased afterward. Please be careful and don’t drink when you drive, or if you want to drink so you don’t drive then.
This is the reason why I’m too scared to go out during Songkran festival. I don’t drink and drive but I’m afraid that people who drink and drive will crash me and cause me to death. It’s the thing I don’t deserve and you don’t deserve it either.
No big guns during Songkran Festival in Thailand
April 10th, 2008 — Festivals, Government, Living Here
Same as last year the government goes in hard for the public water festival in Thailand. They start the no PVC pump guns and no ice cubs and bla bla bla and then nobody cares.
Are people really to believe that the police that also get water on them will arrest people that use this pump PVC guns? I never heard of any arrest or judge sentenced someone to 5 years in prison for that.
But I agree on it I strongly do, people trough Ice cubes in your face when you ride a motorbike and so many people die during this water festival.
Most expats in Thailand run for cover every year after this festival now has totally flipped out and is just dangerous and dirty.
If you see someone selling this PVC water guns you can call 1166 if your phone is not to wet.
