Thai traffic police does not know the law

I got my first ticket on riding with my girlfriend on motorbike last week. There were some cones and we turned right and according to the traffic volunteer police that stopped us that was against the law. According to me it was not according to the law since there are no sign just a few cones that anybody can put up. He said we have to go to the police to complain since he did not know anything, only how to write number on a ticket.

Faire enough I asked my girlfriend to call the traffic police in Bangkok and they said you should follow what the police say? How can you do that since they are so corrupt and have no idea what a law is. But Thai people have been thought from the beginning to follow the Police and the only we can do is to try to ask them to questions them.

I would not objected to the ticket if we did something wrong but when there is no signs to follow and the police does not show but just hide to give you a ticket.

When my girlfriend went to pay the ticket the only answer she got from the police was that she was cute and they wanted her number. They also have no idea what law she had broken when she turned right, just that she should pay it.

Take a shirt on man!

I understand it is hot in Thailand and I really think your beer belly look really sexy (NOT). But really would you in your home town walk around no shorts when you were visiting a government or police office?

I think the police in the UK would put a shirt on you if you walked in there with flip flops and shorts.

The same goes for Thailand, it is a normal country even if its your holiday destination and even Pattaya has a Mayor and a government officials.

Thai people take really offense when you can not dress even with a t-shirt when you go out. No they won’t tell you in the face because it is not nice in Thai culture but they will talk behind your back. So next time you take for example a are taking a driving license where a shirt and long pants, your driving licens can depend on it.

Esteemed monk’s body in Thailand make the miracle

The Magical still remains with the esteemed monk even until his death.

Phra Duan, a native of Songkhla Province who became a monk since the age of 21 due to his failing in policeman’s test. It seems like the destiny set him to be a monk. He went to practice meditation in a cave in Phatthalung for two years, then he traveled around making merit.

In 1959, he started building Wareehaphot temple where he remained doing good deeds until his death and the magical thing happen to this temple as well.

After his death on October 17, and the day of his cremation was November 8. The ceremony was crowded with many faithful people who love and respect Phra Duan. AT 9 pm, Phra Duan was brought out and laid on the pyre but something strange happened because the flame cannot do anything with his body.

After a half of hour, the body was not unblemished by the heat. Since with the miracle, the police and the volunteer have to work harder to prevent the crowd to get into the monk’s body to get the get the piece of his body to do amulet or whatever things according to their beliefs. But still the volunteers carried his body for the entire crowd to see this miracle. Finally they decide no to bury the body but keep the body in the glass coffin instead for people to come see and pay respect and to show this miracle for the whole world to see.

It was no more a funeral because it seems no tears from the eyes of crowded or sad feeling expressions but they were replaced by the astonishing feeling expressions instead.

Actually this is not really the first time that happened in Thailand. It seems like the flame can’t do anything to the body of esteemed monks. We can just only guess that is because of the all good deeds that all esteemed monks did before they died remain them in the same conditions in order to let others to come respect and it shows that even the death took them away from the earth but their miracle still remain for the people even they death already.

I have to say that this kind of thing reflects a lot to the people’s feeling and then it makes people have more respect on the good deeds in each person do when they lived.

Loy Kratong from family holiday to family tragedy

Now it has happened with Loy Kratong as well, the so quiet holiday have now become a reason for drinking and rumbling around.

The holiday should be quiet and a family thing has in many places in Thailand turned in to be a family tragedy with many people loosing eyes and limbs to firecrackers.

I wish the Thais could keep the old holidays the way they should suppose to be like the Songkran (water festival) have turned into a water war and people are fleeing to safer ground (me included). People die in 1000 from driving drunk and from getting ice cubs in the face when they drive motorbikes.

Lets see if this New Year and Christmas will be any different with the election coming up the 23 of December.
