Warning for box jellyfish in Thailand

The Marine and Coastal Resources Department of Thailand have discovered a box jellyfish outside Phi Phi Island in Krabi province. A Swedish girl was killed last year by this rare jellyfish in Ko Lanta Krabi.

People that see normal jellyfish should avoid swimming in it (not very easy since it is every where right now) and if stung go to nearest hospital. In the mean time put vinegar on it not water it will just make it worse.

The box jellyfish is deadly if a person is stung to many times but it is very rare in Thai coastal waters. The government will try to put up warning signs but well you know how that is going to go.

If you want to know how a box jellyfish looks like it looks like this.

No flights to Krabi or Phuket in south Thailand

Democratic Alliance against Dictatorship DAAD is doing a counter rally against PAD. DAAD is a supporter of the current government PPP (People Power Party) and PPP is a proxy government for TRT (Thai love Thai).

The PM and leader of PPP Samak is telling Thailand he is staying put and will not resign even if most of the military does not support him.

The rail way and two airports in South Thailand Phuket and Krabi is still shut down and tourists are stranded. Most of them are going for busses back to Bangkok.

If you planning a holiday in Thailand then go to something like Hua Hin, Pattaya or something reachable by buss. Even if trouble will erupt in the Capital nothing will even happen in Hua Hin since the His Majesty the King is there.

Do not rent a jet ski in Thailand

I think I told you this before but do not rent a jet ski in Thailand. It can ruin your holiday and the wallet for a while.

Many tourists have ended up paying more then enough to scammers paying like land sharks on innocent tourist. The government of the different tourist’s areas has “tried” to do something’s but since the scams are so profitable nobody really want to stop doing them. Everybody kicks the money up to tourist’s police and higher so why stop it?

The best way to show them that they have to clean up their act is to stop renting them, just stop all of you tourists coming to Thailand.

At least one good thing is that the Pattaya police have said they do not want to take care of the problem anymore. If the rental company on the beach wants to go to the police after you refuse to pay the silly amount for no damage on the Jet Ski.
Then please go to the police and tell them that you are being scammed and want to file a report and notify your embassy. The police can not do anything to you because this is a civil matter and has nothing to do with the police. If the rental company threaten you tell the police and then let them escort you away from the rental company and do not go back to that beach anymore.

The police have told the rental company this as well, at least in Pattaya so that they will try screaming and other ways to get the scammed money.
