Crack down on driving in Pattaya

The Pattaya police have been order to crack down on people driving motorbikes and cars. You need to have proof the motorbike you own is really your or that you have consent from the owner to drive it. If you do not have then police will confiscate the motorbike or car.

They will off course crack down on foreign passports as well so at least have a copy of your passport with you while you driving. I have seen many police on the streets the last week always standing on the same place every night and ranking 100 of people every day for not wearing a helmet.

Do not risk a fine or worse, just wear a helmet and keep your passport and motorbike documents close by.

Now is the time to use a helmet in Thailand

Now is the time to wear a helmet and bring your passport when you drive a motorbike a car. If you drive a motorbike in Pattaya from the 25 the last night of the month you are most likely to be stopped.

Thai police get a bunch of traffic tickets to give away every month and commission on them every month they need to finish them before the last every month.

Most days of the months they spend in cool police stations or doing something else, so when the month is about to end they need to crank it up.

This is the reason why you are most likely to be stopped and fined for the most silly crime in the end of the month.

If you do not mind wearing the helmet during the others days of the month they you should off course do it. It is cool to have a helmet and it is not cool to have your brain smashed on the street.

No flights to Krabi or Phuket in south Thailand

Democratic Alliance against Dictatorship DAAD is doing a counter rally against PAD. DAAD is a supporter of the current government PPP (People Power Party) and PPP is a proxy government for TRT (Thai love Thai).

The PM and leader of PPP Samak is telling Thailand he is staying put and will not resign even if most of the military does not support him.

The rail way and two airports in South Thailand Phuket and Krabi is still shut down and tourists are stranded. Most of them are going for busses back to Bangkok.

If you planning a holiday in Thailand then go to something like Hua Hin, Pattaya or something reachable by buss. Even if trouble will erupt in the Capital nothing will even happen in Hua Hin since the His Majesty the King is there.

Pattaya police tell bad guys they are coming

I was glancing trough my favorite reason to move away from Pattaya, The daily updated Pattaya People crime section.

The police was supposed to raid a area that is known for crime or more then usual I guess. But why do they have to have a press conference outside the apartments they are going to raid 5 in the morning. How many bad guys you think are going to stay and wait for the police?

Stop thinking of the press if you get some bad guys then call them but please just hit them hard before telling the press and live local TV.
