Traffic Chaos in Bangkok

The Red Shirts or UDD have once more taken to the streets and are at this moment blocking the traffic in Bangkok. These are the roads they will march on:

Yommarat road
Petchaburi road
Ratchadapisek road
Ladprao road
Bangkapi road
Ramkamheng road
Rama 4 road
Silom road
Yaowarat (China Town) road and most shop in China town are closed due to this.

The Redshirts have been instructed not to hit back or scream back at the angry people in Bangkok and hope people from Bangkok will join them.

The Redshirts have promised not to take the way around the airport and to the Siriaj Hospital where the King of Thailand is staying.

Since the traffic is almost to a standstill in central Bangkok traffic going in and out from the city will off course be blocked as well.

If you do not have any business in Bangkok today and tomorrow do not go there.

You can follow the updates on our twitter during the day http://twitter.com/PersonalThai

What can the Redshirts do in Bangkok

The Red Shirts are in a dead lock now with the government and they need to create something to keep the momentum up. Just marching to the HQ of the Thai army and the Thai government will not create anything. People will get tired of moving back and forward and will go home sooner than later.

When the Yellow Shirts was doing the same thing they occupied Airports, Governments house and a few others places but the Thai government could still function.

So what can the Red Shirts do?

Do a sit down on all major roads and block all traffic. It will result in Chaos in the city and probably the Bangkok People will get angry.

Occupy an airport or port in Bangkok. It will result in blood since the Thai government has promised to move in if they do that. They can no longer say they are better than the Yellow Shirts

Keep protesting on stage where they are now. Result nobody will care what they do and they will soon be very few left.

To be honest I do not know what they can do since the Thai police and Army have shown that they will not be the first to spill blood.

Will the red shirts take Bangkok Airport?

Will the red shirts take Bangkok Airport this weekend?

The Yellow Shirts takeover of the airport was a total surprise for many since the Government was topple by a cooking class on TV a few days later. The Red Shirts have the last month told the Thai government that they might want to go after the airport but I do not think they would be able to.

The Yellow Shirts had support from the old guard in Thailand and that’s why the military did not move in when if they could and should. This Thai government has not the same problem and can mobilize almost all Army and Police to stop the Red Shirts before reaching the airport of Bangkok.

But if your flight is this weekend you should make sure you go in time and keep watching the news for anything that might suggest they are going to the airport.

Risk areas for Bangkok this weekend

Are you in the risk of being locked inside your own apartment for a few days? What are the hotspots that the Red Shirts and the police will close off tomorrow?

If you need to travel from these areas tomorrow remember that you probably cannot get a taxi and you can probably not go out with car at all. The roads will be closed and nobody can go in and out from tomorrow at noon 12.00 until the time the Police and the Red Shirts goes away.

If your car or motorbike is parked outside in these streets you might consider moving it away to avoid damage.

Do not get angry at the police or the Red Shirts for blocking your way you have been warned about this now and just accept the fact and be sabi sabi.

If you do not want to stay inside your home for a few days then go to the sea side and relax.
