According to the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter Thailand military government is to buy the Swedish fighter Plane JAS Gripen.
The deal is really old since the former PM tried to
buy JAS as well from Sweden but wanted to barter with chickens. The Swedish government declined the offer and it looks like that was the best bet.
There is some NGO in Sweden that are not that happy with the sale off course since Thailand is now run by a military government. Even if the deal is sure anything can happen when the new government comes to power after the 23 December this year.

The work to finish the Purple Line Sky Train route from Bang Yai to Bang Sue will start on May or June 2008. The Thailand military government finally agreed how to do the financing and now it is time for private companies to bid for the building.
At least our military government does something for the public but Burma’s military government has put an Iron grip on the country and locked the monks up. I have no hope that the FN will have any success.

Thailand has showed little or no feelings on what’s going on in Burma. Most of the talk is about lost tourist trade or lost trade between borders.
The monks of Thailand have been very silent when it comes to criticize the Burmese Junta to kill monks and beat them up. Is there wish if the same thing would happen to them they want the rest of the world to be silent? I know monks should not mingle in politics but just one march for them is that to much to ask?
The Thai government has also blocked the English radio news on several occasions and I am very surprised that they even allow BBC or CNN to continue to broadcasts the news from Burma.
Is the Thai government betting on the military government to stay in Power and keep the deals open for them? What if there is a new government will it be angry with the Thai people for not helping them in need?
Let’s hope that freedoms will claim victory in Burma and were Red to support the effort of the Monks in Burma.

The Thai government backed by the millitary is fighting against time to try to get Mr Thaksin and his wife, Khunying Potjaman back to Thailand from the UK.
The Thailand government hopes that they can use the law from 1912 to get Mr Thaksin back from England well ahead of the election.
Mr Thaksin on the other hand is hoping this will not be the case and betting his money that the new party called PPP will win the election and he can come back as a PM as soon as possible and clear himself off course. The new leader for PPP has openly declared being a “puppet” for Mr Thaksin and you can be sure he has Mr Thaksins money to help him
