Travel varning tropical storm to hit Thailand

The tropical cyclone Nargis is affecting Thailand and the government of Thailand has issued warnings to the following provinces:

Mae Hong Son
Chiang Mai
Tak
Sukhothai
Khamphaeng Phet
Nakhon Sawan
Uthai Thani
Kanchanaburi

The government said that the tropical cyclone could give massive rain and storms and have told all hospitals in the area to keep open if something would happen.

If you planning a holiday to this areas maybe you should wait a few days to let the bad weather passes

Not even 10 000 to support the ousted PM

The big anti military and pro the former PM of Thailand demonstration did not gathered so many people. Only 10 000 people managed to stay put to when most of them went home because of the heavy rain.

The organisers behind the rally had hopped to get 50 000 people but they hope they will come the 24 June when a new really is planned.

The military have blocked most ways to and around the rally point and that off course made many not come as well.

Depression ‘Durian’ hits Thai south; 5,000 tourists stranded

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of the depression “Durian,” saying it was to make a landfall in the southern provinces of Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat on Wednesday.

The weather authjorities forecast that the storm would trigger heavy rain in Prachuap Khirikhan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, and Songkhla. The winds will come up to 50 kilometre per hour winds in the Gulf of Thailand and heavy rain.

Strong winds and waves as high as two to four metres are expected in the Gulf of Thailand, with small boats advised to stay ashore. Meanwhile, the storm has caused heavy rain in the tourist islands of Koh Samui, Koh Pha-ngan, and Koh Tao, and prompted all boat services to halt their operations.

Only ferry services to and from Samui island still operating. About 5,000 tourists have been left stranded on Phang-nga and Tao islands.
