The latest update about Thailand

The latest update about Red Shirts

You might see that I do not write much about the normal politics going on right now in Thailand. This is because there is too many points of views and to little facts. If you want the latest’s news about the situations look at the twitter updates every day at midnight Thailand local time or follow us on the blog on the left site or Twitter.

We want to give you other news as well from Thailand but if something major will happen in Thailand during the week we will write about it but all the news about Red Shirts, Yellow Shirts and the rest of the gang is Twitter for now.

For now, the Twitter is set to update every day but this change later depends on how much things evolve during the week in Thailand.

Names of People killed in Bangkok

These people hopefully have not died in vain, what ever they believed in. Some had a cause and some had a duty to serve the country. They are all victims in my eyes. When you burn your stick = mai taos or visit the temple give them each a moment and tell their names in silence give them all a blessing.

Crack down on torrents in Thailand

Crack down on torrents in Thailand

A Police spokesman on a conference on a anti Pirate meeting in USA announced that they will soon go after everybody sharing movies and files on the internet. The Police Spokesman said that they failed utterly to crack down on the pirates selling the DVD in Pantip because they are well connected. It will be easier to go after rich foreigners that downloading movies from the internet from their home. Visiting any file sharing site like Piratebay.org and other torrents sites will also become a criminal act.

This will also solve the problem with the slow internet because the downloading of torrents by foreigners is the reason the internet is slow according to CAT and has nothing to do with oversea connections.

The Police said further that this will also solve their problems with old computers in the police stations since all computers found with pirated software and movies will be confiscated and donated to the police that discovered the pirate hub of torrent.

Starting after the Thai New Year the Cyber Crime center will monitor all connection of torrents and other file swaps in Thailand. Anybody sending an attachment with email, downloading torrents or any other of way of sending file will get a notice on their screen to come and hand over their computer with one week or the police will come to them.

The spokesperson did not say if the cyber criminals were to hand over just the computer or if the wire, printers, and monitors should be included but they say more information will come in the next weeks.

The Visa or work permit will not be affected of the foreigners would not be affected if the person handed over the computer within the set deadline. Thai people with a new computer will also be targeted since they have money to buy a new one. You can from the IP trace see what model of computer you are using this has been done for over 10 years around the world. Anyone caught also have to pay a fine for every movie or software inside the computer at the time of hand over.

Pattaya Musical festival 2010

This weekend the big Pattaya Musical festival will hit Pattaya. I am sure it will be the longest music festival in Asia but will it be the best one? Last weekend I was out in Pattaya and checked some of the stages and the space between the stage and the street is so small. It will be the same problem as before you have to go aroooound to get to the next stage. You will have no space to move in the crowd it is to packed so you have to go back up on Second road and then go back down. Last time they did like this I walked around on the back because the water was low but I am not sure they will allow this. I think the idea is great and I am happy for Pattaya but if something would happen the water will be safest place to run.

If you do not want to see the music festival I advice you not to go to Pattaya this weekend the traffic will be jammed and the hotels overbooked and overpriced.

Here are the details for the music festival

The blue stage in central Pattaya is for variety. Artists include Klear, Kala, So Cool, Namcha, Ice Sarunyoo, Clash, Black Beauty, Potato, Mike Phiromporn, Brazier, Tai Tanawut, Buddha Bless, Pong-Lang Sa-orn, and Thaitanium.

The purple stage at Central Festival has easy-listening from the Candies, Dream On, Panadda, Lukpad, Lula, Nam, Ford Sobchai, Bell Supol, Nicole Theriault, Ann Thitima, Calorie Blah Blah, Soulda, Pom Autobahn and Techin.
