When I saw this new I this news I thought it was an April joke or something. Thailand has won some “Clean and Green Land award”. All green land I can see is Lumpini Park and some half attempt to put green under the high ways.
They also got it for trying to bring down the haze; yes I can confirm that the police stopped polluting cars for about a week.
I do not know really what to say but have they seen the garbage on the streets and the smog over the city? I been to Singapore and must say that Singapore is much better with green areas.

Bangkok was awarded Clean and Green Land at the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Environment in Hanoi, Vietnam from October 6 to 10, according to Thailand’s Permanent Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment Saksit Tridech.

He said Bangkok was presented with this award because the city has sufficient resources to manage its environment, especially the green areas. He said the Thai capital has continually carried out environmental projects with clear results.

Mr Saksit said one of the main topics discussed at the meeting included the promotion of cooperation between ASEAN members to address environmental issues.

According to the permanent secretary, delegates praised different countries for their efforts to deal with transboundary haze pollution, and a fund for lowering haze pollution was also proposed at the meeting.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment hosted the first East Asia Summit (EAS) Environment Ministers Meeting, the 11th Informal ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Environment, the 7th ASEAN+3 Environment Ministerial Meeting, and the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transboundary Haze Pollution between October 6 and 10.

When you move to a smaller place outside Bangkok like Pattaya or Phuket you need to prepare yourself for the worst in another way then if you live in Bangkok.
When the water is up to your knees or there is no shower for a day you are already to late you need to act before it happen.

You need the number to some one how can fix water pumps because with out the pump no water.

You need an electrician to fix the electric system if it would fail.

You need some to collect the drain tank under your house because if it gets full you do not want to live in the house.

You need the number to the truck that delivers water if the water supply should fail in the area.

The number to the closest living police officer and doctor would be a good idea if you live far out otherwise the local number to the hospital and police station would do.

It could be a good idea to have the fire department number as well but the chance that they would come when your house is on fire if you not give them money is very slim and if you live far out just forget about it.

Try to meet all of this people before something happen, ask them to fix something small and if they really suck ask for a new one. When you deep in trouble they will use that to raise the price.

Can I drink the milk in Thailand? Well I can not really tell I would stick to Soya mil for a while and try to eat milk imported from Australia or something because they have a good value and that milk is somewhat safe.

Even if the Thai producers have not been found to dangerous the milk yet the Chinese companies are always trying to dump the milk some where and one of the first countries is Thailand. The customs already taken tons of dried from china and god knows how much had come in already.

So if I were in yours shoes I would stick to the Soya milk for a while until the milk scandal passes and all the dangerous milk is finished.

My maid is leaving me she is going to go back farming. I do not think she want to do that because her life is very easy with me. But as usual in a Thai life the family wants you to do something and you have to follow.

There are plenty of maids in Thailand but not many good once and even less that speaks English. The different maid agencies do not guarantee that the maid wont steal from you just that you get a new one if the first run away.

Good maids in Thailand should be on the stock market because there value is greater then gold sometimes. They will give you a peace of mind that you house still is there when you come back from a holiday.

Please dear maid do not leave me and the dogs all alone!
