The world famous Toyota Hillux has failed a moose test in Sweden. It was the Swedish magazine Teknikens Värld now so famous moose test that also manage to make problem for Benz A class.
The news is on the frontpage on many newspappers in Sweden among them Expressen.se
Toyota is now recalling this version with 16 inch tires until they investigated. The Toyota team also had the same results that the car was lifted from the ground during the test.
I am sure you looked at the other story about Thai Police crack down and how they fail to do to do there job all the time. Well the problem with the traffic police is about the same. Most traffic police are from the rural area and they know that people that drive pickups or motorbikes are most of the time not from Bangkok. So if you not from Bangkok you do not know anyone in high places that can create problem for you later. Therefore if you buy a Benz or a BMW (the bigger the better) your risk of being stopped is minimal. (Yes that is why all Benz owners drive like idiots) Because you might be an important person and they do not want to risk stopping you. There is also a class difference in Thailand even if you not as a foreigners see it as much as in India but there is one and most traffic police come from a lower class so to speak.
When I bought my last car I had the option of a pickup and a SUV and the sales person even told me not get the pickup just because this problem. If I was to travel outside Bangkok at night I would be stopped all the time. The police does not like to stop foreigners either well some do but if you talk for example Italian with him for 5 min he will let you go.
Maxing out your car in Thailand can become very expensive. Even if the labor is pretty cheap the parts can not be bought or they are extremely expensive. You should consider buying your Nitrous oxide outside Thailand. Either you can move your Nitrous here when you ship your container over or send it by normal post. The bride you have to pay like 1000 THB is much cheaper then you need to pay for the NOS in the shop anyway.
A Swedish man (again) stole a car from German man who left the keys in the car. The Swedish man saw his chance when the German man when into the 7/11 and drove away.
The only problem with his plan was that he was high as a skyscraper and did not handle the car that well, maybe it was not a Volvo? He started driving into market stalls and into other cars hurting several people many of them serious. The Police finally could apprehend him when he drove into a building and a angry mob stopped him from driving away.
The police had to protect the Swede from the angry mob of relatives that had gathers outside the Police house in Patong, Phuket.
