Why so many people buy a new ADSL modem in Thailand

I had a big power break here in my area last week. All power went off after a big bang and did not come back for a few hours.

After the power came back there was no internet and I called my good old friends in True Customer service. I had so many talks with them before and it’s kind of a fact that they are laying the ears off themselves. Most of the people living here know about the problem and the Thais do not really question somebody like western people do.

The internet is down every 10 min in my house now and according to True that is only me that is having the same problem but I can ask a few friend online and they will all have the same problem as me.

I have to call them today I know but the problem is I am just going be pissed off and irritated and they just going to lie to me. They just going to say it’s my problem and my software or hardware is damage and I have to buy a new one. Even if they know to 100 % it is not my fault the make the customer spend money on new modems, just so they can get off the hook.

After I call them today I let you know what happened.

Thailand has not paid its Proxy license

It looks like True Internet or The ICT Government of Thailand has not paid its bill to http://bluecoat.com/. More and more users all over Thailand get the message that

Access Denied (license_expired)

A license has expired on the Proxy, and your request is not permitted: “The SGOS license has expired”
A new license must be obtained.

For assistance, contact your network support team.

Thailand has a strict block policy on many sites and that block is still intact but for how long.

Lets hope Thailand pays it bill soon so we can surf in a safe way.

May the ICT ministry of Thailand be with us and protect us from Google DIGG IT!

Please have mercy I have to call True customer service

The same day that my internet provider in Thailand did not pay his Proxy bill the power went off for me. I fell asleep and when I woke up the internet was gone, it probably reset the modem. I have told you before about my horror stories abut True Internet and I was thinking I had to relive them once more.

It all started as normal one guy answer says he can speak English ask me to wait and then hangs up, very normal.

Second try an True answer machine (see my old story) tell me in Thai that call back tomorrow before 17.00.

Third try and I now press the keys in random and a girl answers and she is so helpful. The only thing that makes me mad is that she says that I did not bought the modem from True they tell me that every time but I did and I tell them that every time to.

Now my internet is working but it goes up and down all the time it sucks and it’s slow. I am going for a holiday for a few days so I do not care and hopefully it is not only me it’s the internet in Thailand.

True internet not have true speed

I was visiting a friend on Sukhumvit in Bangkok and I live in the Silom area. She had a internet speed of 2 MB and I have 3 MB but her speed was so much faster then mine. I called True customer support but they off course said nothing was wrong and there was nothing I could do about it.

I know this from before it depends on the quality of the lines in the area and how many customers there is this area. 3 or 2 MB is not out from Thailand it is to the True office or to the closest Thai hub.
