According to Thai Visa some internet websites was blocked in Thailand this week. The following websites was according to the Thai Visa forum blocked
Yahoo
CNN
Facebook
This off course prompted half of Thailand to go check these websites out and probably caused the website to slow down from Thailand.
Then after people calmed down and starting to surf normally nobody could find any trace of any block expect the moderators on the Thai Visa forums they insisted there was a block.
Thailand have also supposedly got a faster internet connection, that is Thailand has got it but not the users. For more information about that you can visit http://www.asia-america-gateway.com/
On a more serious note the Thai Immigration website in Thailand have viruses and should not be clicked on. If you ask Google and Firefox why it is a big warning for this website you will get this answer.

This post is copied from Thaivisa forum since Thaivisa forum like to copy from other sites I am sure they understand the joke
Bangkokpost.com do not just ban Thaivisa.com but all media that not using RSS so this blog is affected as well. We do not use RSS and will no longer send traffic to Bangkokpost.com starting from this post.
Thaivisa.com has already a deal with The Nation and i think Bangkokpost.com will suffer from this.It would be fun to see how many that go from Thaivisa.com to Bangokpost.com every time they publish news from Bangkokpost.com
Bangkok Post bans Thaivisa from using its content
BANGKOK (thaivisa.com): — The Publisher of Bangkok Post, Post Publishing PCL, has informed Thaivisa.com that they have joined the “Society for Online News Providers, (SONP)”, and their policy is apparently that RSS feeds are the only way for other web sites to republish news articles.
Given their request that no content be published on ThaiVisa unless as an RSS feed, which is an automatic feed with no commentary, Bangkok Post articles can no longer be published in any ThaiVisa forums from now on since the forums are not an RSS feed.
“Thaivisa must respect Bangkok Post’s new policy, but we are sort of sad to see them go away. We have a very different vision than the Bangkok Post about the future of community networking”, says Barry Main, marketing director of ThaiVisa.com.
“But no worries, we have The Nation and The Phuket Gazette already on board, and we are soon hooking up with other local news sources. Our goal is to serve our members with a mixed and balanced news feed. Bangkok Post has changed this balance, at least for now”, says Barry Main.
Avoid content from Bangkok Post
For legal reasons, and to protect the website and its members, Thaivisa.com must comply with this new policy and urge all members to avoid all Bangkok Post content, advising its members to find alternative content instead.
Members quoting or posting Bangkok Post content will be warned by our moderating team, and the post will be deleted without warning.
Bangkok Post’s web traffic is in sharp decline according to Google Trends.
The ban on Bangkok Post articles is in effect immediately.

Some people with connection to Thailand have opened a new website called “notthenation”. My simple guess is that they are critical to the way The Nation sometimes portray the news.
If you set aside the political message the website is pretty funny written with articles like
Bumrungrad Hospital Officially Declared Islam’s Third Holiest Site
Muslim world reacts to Wednesday’s announcement by the Saudi-based Wahhabi Council; hospital prepares for influx of patients/worshippers
Former TAT Governor Denies Ever Being TAT Governor
Former Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor Juthamas Siriwan threatens to sue anyone who claims she was the Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor
And lucky for this blog
CNS Lifts Ban on Irony
Former CNS chief Sonthi said that effective immediately, all citizens could now use sarcasm, sustained satire, conceit, and “if appropriate, the nearly-undetectable use of wry understatement
The website has the same address as it is name if you want to see more “news”

July 5th, 2009 — Expatriate Guide, Internet, Local Websites
The Frog blog had a small talk with the founder of Thai Visa forum.
It was a very Thai visa like interview with not saying anything really and trying to walk on the right side of the line.
I guess that’s why some people do not like Thai visa they are to Thai correct. Also the not so breaking news can be a bit disturbing some times when all they do is scare up people to go hire a lawyer that sponsor the forum.
I think the fact that Thai visa always trying to tell us that they do not make profit when we all know that they must be one of the most profitable expats website in Thailand
They also had some controversy a few years ago when a moderator in CM was arrested for pedophile charges.
Even if i am not a regular and i really do not like the talk on the forum its my pick for find visa news and nothing else.
