January 17th, 2010 — Blocked Sites, Internet
How much privacy do you really have when you surf the internet in Thailand? After some website we checked went very slow we decided to check Yahoo, CNN, Facebook, YouTube and few other sites and all have the same thing you can see on the bottom of this video below.
MICT is inside your internet browser basically and can see whatever information you sending. So if you are uploading some holiday pictures on the YouTube and using your Gmail account as long in the chance is that the Thai government now knows your password as well.
The Thai governments are apparently tying to stop people or pirates from downloading CD and DVD covers in an effort to stop piracy in Thailand.
The question is how much privacy do you want to sacrifice to stop piracy?
How many more websites will the Thai government sneak into instead of just blocking?
See the video below in the left corner but the video is not complete but it we did not want to make a bigger video.

January 14th, 2010 — Internet, Thai ISP
When you need to download something the internet in Thailand the torrent can be the fastest way to do it. Many people are sharing their legal work on torrents as well because they want people from all over the world to download it quickly and easy.
Downloading torrents in Thailand are not yet illegal even if holding a pirate copy of a DVD is but we will not get into that now. We are talking about the many programs you can download legally and what to do about the speed of your internet.
Content customer equals slow internet
Your very own internet provider has limited speed to play with when it comes to abroad connections so they do everything in their power to tweak and adjust your connection.
Happy and content customers in Thailand probably get the worst speed because they will move you down to make way for customers that complain.
Your internet provider will probably also block or limit how many torrents you can download and if they say you are a constant downloaded you will see problems from time to time.
Get faster torrent download speed
To trick the Thai internet provider tell your torrent program to random the ports with every start up and also turn off and on your internet modem from time to time. When you do that you will see that your torrent speed will go up a great deal.
Legal Torrents
Legaltorrents.com They shared over 90 terabyte in December and all the files are stored centrally so you will always have a happy ending, on your download.
Public Domain Torrents Another great share of legal torrent file loads of music and video but stick to the recent uploaded stuff.
Legit Torrents Free games, Linux software and videos.

December 18th, 2009 — Blocked Sites, Internet, Local Websites
According to Thai Visa some internet websites was blocked in Thailand this week. The following websites was according to the Thai Visa forum blocked
Yahoo
CNN
Facebook
This off course prompted half of Thailand to go check these websites out and probably caused the website to slow down from Thailand.
Then after people calmed down and starting to surf normally nobody could find any trace of any block expect the moderators on the Thai Visa forums they insisted there was a block.
Thailand have also supposedly got a faster internet connection, that is Thailand has got it but not the users. For more information about that you can visit http://www.asia-america-gateway.com/
On a more serious note the Thai Immigration website in Thailand have viruses and should not be clicked on. If you ask Google and Firefox why it is a big warning for this website you will get this answer.
