Drugged in Bangkok

I saw a story in the Thai visa forum about son writing about his father being drugged and robbed in Bangkok Thailand. I wrote about the Cambodian girl in Pattaya a few days ago and that she had so many watches and mobile phones in her room. That girl is one of very few girls that actually got caught for drugging tourists and it was not because the Thai police effective police work.

This girl maybe drugged over 100 people from what it looked like in her room and the Thai police had no clue how to catch the clever thief. The Thai Police should have set up a task force to arrest her long time ago since she was not one time thief but one of the biggest I have seen. The man in Bangkok who wrote in Thai visa got a similar treatment he got laught at by the Police. He was told to get a blood sample and go get the CCTV tape then come back with the proof and I thought that was the police work silly me.

This drugging of tourist has been growing ever since the economy worsened and my guess is that until we see someone die from the drugs (in Bangkok, in Pattaya it already happen) the Police will do nothing to stop it. Some of the drug incidents are off course just people getting to drunk the first day of arrival and jet lag and heat others are just insurances scams. We also have a big black number with the guys going with ladyboys and gay boys they probably never report the crimes because of the shame they have to face in the police station.

If you feel ignored in the Police station stand your ground and call your Embassy, go to one of the English Speaking newspapers and off course write to us. Have you been drugged in Thailand? Tell us your story we like to write about it.

Drugged in Pattaya

Have you been drugged in Pattaya?

If you have been missing some items during the last few month it is time to head down to the Pattaya Police station and talk with the Police.

The Police have arrested a female Cambodia / Thai girl for stealing valuables from rooms after she gave the men a powerful sleeping tablet.

She is off course not the only woman drugging her customers in Pattaya but she is a very active one and her room looked like an electronic shop.

This crime was not so common a few years ago but when the economy turned sour I guess the old practices of drugging customers and stealing from them came back. You have to be very careful when taking someone to you room and drinking with them. You will not notice the drug being put inside your drink since they know how to do it very well.

One way to avoid this is to lock everything in your safe before doing anything else or just go to a short time room of your convince or maybe just stop drinking and talking strangers to your room all together.

Warning for Thieves on Pattaya Bus Station

I just want to shout out a warning to people that come with the buss to Pattaya at night / after dark from Bangkok. Thieves are waiting for you at the bus station and they are preying on people that just arrived.

You might think you are safe going with a Baht Bus but it could not be further from the trust. Several people have lost their handbags and necklaces on the buses lately.

They get robbed by people on motorbike snatching it from you as you riding the Bath Bus and you have no way of peruse them.

Keep your chains hidden and hold on to your smaller bags when you ride a Baht Bus anywhere in Pattaya but especially when you come from Bangkok.

Some thief’s have tried to steal my chain two times in one year on motorbike and my friend one time on a Baht Bus. Last week a finish man lost a chain worth over 300 000 THB on a Baht Bus.

Emergency number not working in Pattaya

Emergency number not working in Pattaya

A thief was trying to snatch a gold chain from my neck for the second time in Thailand and this time I had put in the short number for the Police in Pattaya. I got the number from local Pattaya TV.
I got one number and that was 191 it went to a fax after 3 signals.
I had another number and that was 1155 to the tourists police in Pattaya and that one did not even work it just disconnect.
So I called 1337 the Pattaya information center and the operator said he could take my claim but before I had the chance to finish the call a Thai police come riding on his bike.
From then on the operation went very smooth and I could see that the Police had set up roadblocks around everywhere in a matter of minutes and stopped everyone that matched the thief’s description. Too bad that they did not have my call any sooner they might had time to catch the thief.
I asked one of the twenty police guys looking for the thief for another number and he gave me this one

038424186

It goes directly to the Pattaya police radio center and that’s good if you are in the need for some fast action. If someone tries to snatch your bag or chain in Pattaya please do not think they will not catch them but make sure you call the police right away they are quick to put up road blocks.
