Thailand has done two major drug busts last night but I am not cheering and I will tell you why soon. Last night the customs department arrested a woman from Philippines on her way from Lima in Peru and also breaking Thai news now in the news is a 15 Kilos of heroin that was captured with a Nigerian.
I am not cheering because I think personally all these people are victims of some sort, do I think they should be set free ,no off course not but they are still victims. The police in Thailand should let them pass the customs department and meet the buyers and arrest all of them. That would stop the flow of drugs for a while since you cut the head off. Arresting the small drug mules does not mean anything because they just order another one for 1000 USD, that’s how much her life was worth.
Then it is constant tipoff, who is tipping the Police in Thailand all the time? Is it the DEA or other drug agency or is just another drug smuggler. I have nothing against the DEA or CIA or whatnot people operate in Thailand but the Thai police need to stop talking tips from other criminals. The only reason they do this to get favors for even biggest shipment because nothing is free in the criminal world.
Then we have the victim part of the drug mules and should they be punished as hard as the drug dealers and drug bosses? In some countries people are forced to smuggle drugs because the drug barons will kill their family if they don’t do it. Sometimes it is just pure greed but in most case it is the fast cash that glimmers and to have a life outside poverty and lack of education and we should not punish that.
During the drug war Thaksin and his gang killed off about 4200 people that was or was not involved selling drugs. A few innocent children were also killed and no trials or whatever was provided for them. With all this killing you would have hope you stopped the drugs for good but you just stopped the small rivers not the big flood. The big bosses are still there and sitting safe because of connecting with the Thai Police and government officials.
On Pattaya TV last week I saw how the Thai Police actually went up the ladder a few steps but when they came a few steps up they just stopped even if they probably could caught bigger drug dealers that night. Thai criminals are not known for keeping their mouth shut and they are happy to tell everybody who the dealers are, the Thai Police should use that more.
We all see what drugs have done with Mexico and Thailand could slip back to the area before Thaksin when corruption almost let the drugs take over the country. Thailand needs to be careful to not let the big bosses loose to many times because soon they will sit next to them. In Uthai Thani a drug lord was elected major in the town mostly because of his wealth built up by drug money.

March 19th, 2010 — Crimes, Drugs, Phuket
They have arrested another stupid foreigner on the island of Phuket that had the idea that the drugs were free to use in Thailand. The Police paraded him in front of the camera with a few other small time Thai drug dealers. The Phuket Police called it the new crack down on drugs and these people were all they could find on short notice.
It is really sad that the Police do not arrest all the people that walks around in Thailand and offers drugs to people. I see them as soon as I step out of the door and they keep asking me to buy drugs. Arrest them instead of tourists and Thailand will be a better place for sure. But one reason for the police not arresting is because they are police spies. When they sold the drugs to the tourist they call the police and get a rearward.
I know I covered this before but people still taking the risk to get arrested and end up in Thai jail for months for a few grams of marijuana.

The Thai government is planning yet another crack down on drugs and they want to ensure the public that it will not be a violent crack down like last time. This time the crack down will be trough normal police work and take help from military.
They already have a first step of the crack down but it was not very successful the Thai government is now pushing all involved agencies to step up and really make an effort. It can be difficult since some of the Thai police officers might be involved or protecting drug dealers. Thailand have also got criticism for not arresting the “big people” behind the dealers, only the small people get arrested but the masterminds keep finding new dealers.
The crack down will also try to stop people already arrested and punished to going back to the drugs.
The former PM of Thailand Mr Taksin violent crackdown resulted in a killing sprees that left over 2500 people dead. But Thaksins crackdown really had an affect and many people stopped doing or selling drugs from that day. But the drug dealers are now back to normal and since the bad times many people looking for a quick income

An Italy man in Thailand doing Thai boxing was arrested on the Walking Street in Pattaya for selling weed and Norwegian man was arrested for similar charges in his apartment. Why do you think this two foreigners was arrested during the same night?
Selling and taking drugs in Thailand are the most stupid thing you can do I think if you want to be a criminal. You always have to rely on Thai dealers to supply you with the drug and if they have to snitch on someone it will be you.
A foreign man on the Pattaya News channel makes much better headlines then another Thai man since they are arrested in bundles every day even if they don’t show it on TV.
Even if Thai men can stay on Walking Streets in Pattaya whisper “coke, weed, ganja” in your ear you cannot do that. The reason why they do this is to call the police if you are stupid enough to buy from them.
The under the table money you need to pay to get you out from the particular situation will give them more money than they make selling you one joint.
Taking Thai bar girls back to your room for a drug party is also a bad idea since it is your room the drugs will be yours and not the girls even if they brought them. Some Thai girls also call the police telling them where to come and arrest you. How else do you think they find foreigner in some apartment complex?
If you still want to be a “gangster” please visit one of the many prisons in Thailand or read some prison books about the sunny life inside a Thai prison maybe it will change your mind.
Drugs are a serious crime in Thailand and neither Thai nor foreigners will feel any pity on you for getting caught.
