Crack down on Thai students
A closing of an English school in USA has forced 51 Thai students to go back to Thailand. It is not only Thailand that crack down on student visa, USA also have even stricter rules. It cannot be fun for these Thai students wasting loads of money to get visa and tickets and then be sent home. Next time you complain about Thailand’s hard visa regulations take a look at what USA is doing.
Crack down on Thai schools for expats
Thai Whalen the biggest Thai English language school in Thailand for expats that want a prolonged visa is sending out invites to join their new business educations visa promotion. Under no circumstances should you start ANY business with an EDU visa in Thailand. Doing any business in Thailand with an EDU will risk you getting kicked out of Thailand. I am very surprised that Thai Whalen School is even trying this kind of ploy.
Be very aware that many Thai visa Schools do not care if you attend the classes or not. But please thank me in a few months when the Thai immigration sooner or later will crack down on Thai educations schools. If some famous criminal get court having a EDU visa you can bet your next Som Tam that it will be a crack down on EDU visa. They will probably check that you been present and your language skills are in order.

Have you ever got a spam from your mobile phone company that does not come from your own mobile company? The big once, AIS, DTAC and True move have invested 30 million to stop the SMS spam but I never get spam other than from True.
Sometimes I get over 10 SMS from true in one day but I never spread my phone numbers around like asking for credit card or something.
The guys who stand around the city promoting credit card will get about 100 THB for your information and then they sell that info in big lists. Then everything from property to fitness companies will start sending you SMS.
I do not see the big problem here just make a law that forbids spam and you can put a big X on your contract that you do not want to have any spam from your cell phone company and then file a police report every time someone spams you.
I will try one off these days to call True and ask them to stop sending me SMS but I am not sure how long it will take me but I will be sure to print the conversation here, should be amusing.

I want to give some Kudos to the staff in Pattaya Carrefour shopping center for acting like any western company should do.
I wanted to buy two pandas as a gift and they had an offer that I could buy one and get one free. Since I am a big sucker for buy one get one free I took the offer and picked the pandas.
When I wanted to pay the cashier wanted to charge me for two pandas and I explained that was not what I saw in the promotion that was posted in very large yellow notes.
She called some other staff and I waited for a good 10 minutes then I went in to check the offer one more time and I saw they have taken it away. I went to the cashier and asked her to call the manager and a girl came up.
Before I had the time to tell her off for removing the offer she handed me the two pandas and said.
-“sorry for waiting in 3 minutes but here for free for you”
Well I had waited for 15 min but I would not say no to two free pandas for almost 1000 THB.
I think Pattaya Carrefour shopping center handled the matter very well and I know that had I got to another company they would tell me to bugger off.
