Buss crash in North Thailand

On Monday morning 3 people died and 25 was injured in a buss crash in Nakon Ratchasima. This is happen from time to time since the driver always work more then 12 hours driving the bus from north Thailand to Bangkok. There are no real regulations on how long the driver can drive the buss with no sleep. Most of the time he get a hour sleep when the passengers stop for a snack.

If you are worried about taking buss in Thailand you can take the day buss there is less change that the driver fall asleep during the day time. You can also make sure that the driver is awake and if you think he speeding to much let him know or tell other passengers about it.

Nakon Ratchasima is not in Norththailand.
Nakon Ratchasima, also known as Korat is in the Northeast
of Thailand called Isaan.

I have been on a few over night bus trips from Bangkok to Mukdahan and back and at least one of those trips was pretty scary.

The other trips the bus company had two drivers on board and everything was smooth.

I always hate to hear about the bus accidents in Thailand because they really can be prevented.
