The Culture Ministry has registered 25 Thai classic films as the film heritage.

The registration of the movies is the project initiated by Thai Film Archive. According to Culture Minister Sukumol Khunpluem, the films deserved to be the national heritage for they are the masterpieces of Thai film makers and are about Thai people and Thai culture.

The selected films consist of historical documentaries, classic and contemporary movies, such as the documentary of the 150th anniversary of Bangkok, Drama 'Butterfly and Flowers' and Palme d'Or award-winning film 'Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives'.
