The National Health Security Office (NHSO) will allocate a supplementary budget worth over 381 million THB to improve health services for the disabled in local hospitals nationwide.

NHSO Deputy Secretary-General Weerawat Phankhrut stated that with an aim to improve the rehabilitation program for people with disabilities, the NHSO would inject over 305 million THB to purchase proper medical facilities. He said another 76 million THB would also be spent on hiring more physiotherapists to be stationed in local hospitals nationwide and improving their skills and services.

As of March 2010, there were a total of 695,470 handicapped people, who had enrolled in the health insurance program.
