Heavy Rain to Hit North of Thailand
The National Disaster Warning Center (NDWC) under the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology has issued a warning against possible heavy rainfall in the northern and northeastern parts of the kingdom within the next few days.
According the recent announcement of the NDWC, the northern region, especially Nan, Lampang, Phayao, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai provinces, and the northeastern provinces of Mukdahan and Sakon Nakhon are likely to experience torrential rain from 20 to 22 May 2011.
Related units in those risky areas should brace themselves for possible flash flood while villagers should follow the officials’ advice as well as monitor the news closely.
