Prolonged exposure to asbestos can cause a variety of serious health problems. Mesothelioma is caused by asbestos exposure. Mesothelioma is a form of asbestos cancer that occurs when malignant cells develop in the mesothelium, a protective lining that covers most of the body's internal organs.

As long as you not touch your house you should be fine but if something break or you renovate you need to check.
