Singburi’s annual fish- eating festival has already kicked off and will run through January 5th next year.

The 19th fish eating festival kicked off in Singburi, with over 2,000 locals from 6 districts joining the parade to mark the beginning of such special event. The parade started from Wat Pho Kaeo Nophakhun and ended in front of the Provincial City Hall in Muang District. The 2-kilometer parade drew a lot of attention from both locals and tourists.

The aim of the festival is to promote the province’s tourism and OTOP products as well as to generate income for local business.

Other activities included fish sculpture contest, fish tasting, fish cooking contest, cultural performances, and other entertainment activities. The festival will be held until January 5, 2014.
