The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation under the Ministry of Interior, and Thai Beverage Public Company Limited have carried out the ‘ThaiBev Unites to Fight the Cold’ initiative for the 14th consecutive year in which they donated blankets to victims of the cold spell in Kanchanaburi province.
Kanchanaburi is one of the fifteen cold-stricken provinces presented with 10,000 blankets under this project, for distribution to various districts in the province. Today, Mr.Chaiwat Limwantha, Governor of Kanchanaburi, was presented with the blankets from Thai Beverage Company and then handed over the blankets to 12 District Chief Officers who will later visit cold-stricken victims in respective districts to handout the blankets.
The Governor on this occasion thanked the company, saying Kanchanaburi is located on the high mountainous terrain with many people affected by the cold spell every year. The 10,000 donated blankets would therefore be beneficial to those people.
