The province of Mae Hong Son is ready to welcome tourists to its’ lotus-blooming season on Doi Mae U-khon, Khun Yuam district.

According to Surapol Panusainpol, the Governor of Mae Hong Son, 70% of the lotuses are now in full bloom on the 1,000 rai Bua Tong field, Doi Mae U-kho, Khun Yuam district. The province has also arranged camping grounds for tourists to camp out in tents and enjoy the cool climate, given the temperature is expected to drop to 10 degrees Celsius on the mountain range 1,600 meters above sea level.

The Minister of Tourism and Sports will visit the mountain to preside over the official opening ceremony of the Bua Tong Tourist season on the 9th November 2013.

Tourists can visit the lotus field via three routes, which are the 1095, the 108 and the 1263 motorways from Chiang Mai. More than 150,000 people are expected to visit Mae Hong Son during the peak lotus blooming season this year.
