Uthai Thani has established a youth volunteer project aimed at giving moral support to the terminally ill patients who have lost hope.

According to Dr. Montri Nongkhai of Nong Charng Hospital, the project has been in progress and a network of youth volunteers has been visiting terminally ill patients, both at the hospitals and in their homes.

The project aims to provide moral support to patients who have started to lose faith and hope. A number of volunteers are young children, who dance and sing for the patients, making them feel warm and lighthearted.

Many terminally ill cancer patients who have not been responding well to treatment have expressed great delight in the visits of the volunteers, as they remind them of their own children when they were young. With a better mental health state, the body tends to respond better to medication and treatment.
