The 10th Technology Street Fair of MCOT Public Company Limited is promoting technological learning among the youth.

The fair includes a competition of the innovations used in geographical explorations and the ABU Thailand Robot Championships, from which winners will represent Thailand at a regional competition in Hong Kong. Mr.Sura Gaintanasilp, Executive Vice President of MCOT, said the technology fair held at Impact Muang Thong Thani during the 17th-18th June 2013, is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy. The purpose is to create an opportunity for the Thai youth to become more familiar with technology and engineering mechanism and be able to design innovations beneficial to the society.

For the GIS innovation competition, the contest was open to students and the general public. 19 innovations have already been selected for the final round such as unmanned aerial vehicles for flood surveillance and a satellite based rainfall forecasting system. As for the robot competition, this year’s theme is to design a robot able to climb a slope and pick up an object. The winner will represent Thailand at the Hongkong international competition on 19August 2013, with altogether 19 countries competing.
