Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has welcomed the King of Bahrain, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, during his official visit to Thailand during April 18-20.

Prime Minister Yingluck and the Bahraini monarch were both granted an audience with His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej at Siriraj Hospital on Thursday evening.

The Thai government held a reception to officially welcome King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at Government House. The monarch proceeded to sign a guest book and receive gifts from the Thai premier to mark his visit.

Ms Yingluck hosted a dinner reception in the king’s honor before holding bilateral talks at Government House to find means of promoting further cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, tourism, food and energy security and education.

Thailand and Bahrain established their diplomatic relations on 17 January 1977.
