    Stop Political Interference Thaksin Shinawatra

The Truth for Reconciliation Commission or TRC has urged Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, former Prime Minister to stop his political interference for the sake of the country.

During the declaration of the TRC’s investigation results, TRC Chairman Kanit Nanakorn suggested that Mr. Thaksin stop interfering with politics as there had been a number of violent cases Mr. Thaksin was involved in. The TRC said it would be best for all sides if Mr. Thaksin stayed out of the nation's politics, so that Thailand can have peace and unity among its people.

Mr. Kanit also suggested Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, the current Prime Minister and Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, former Prime Minister should take responsibility by apologizing to the people regarding the issue. He said due to the inefficiency of the current measures to peacefully eliminate conflicts, there should be no amnesty law issuance or constitutional amendment until all sides have a chance to sit down and settle the issue, so that everyone can be part of the settlement.

Mr. Kanit added that the government and the parliament should also revise the controversial lese majeste law and harsh punishment for its violation.
