Pattaya recently won the deal from International Association

Of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) - a trade organisation whose members are responsible for 85 per cent of the world’s Golf holiday package bookings, to host the event.

Pattaya City Mayor expects a big boost to the tourism industry, particularly after Pattaya was named by the association as the Golf Destination of the Year 2012 for Asia and Australasia.

The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau played a major role in assisting Pattaya's successful bid, along with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the East Coast Golf Course Management Association (EGA).

Over 500 delegates are expected in Pattaya during 29 April - 2 May, 2013 at the 2nd Asia Golf Tourism Convention which should generate millions of dollar to the Thai resort town.
