View Full Version : 2500 Kilos of Drugs destroyed in Thailand

A pile of drug evidence will be destroyed in Ayutthaya province on 25 June 2010.

A working team comprising officials from the Office of the Narcotics Control Board, Department of Medical Science, Scientific Crime Detection Division under the supervision of the Royal Thai Police as well as Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are tasked to count and weigh drug evidences on Wednesday.

Seized narcotics consisting of 1,818 Kg of Methamphetamine, 213 Kg of Heroin, 129 Kg of Opium, 1 Kg of Cocaine and 212 Kg of Codeine. The total weight was 2,460 Kg and valued at six billion THB.

According to Deputy Director of FDA Advisory Committee MD Werawan Tangkeaw, sacks of seized narcotics will be stored at the FDA drug warehouse and later burned at Infrastructure and Environment Center located at the Bang Pa-in Industrial Estate in Ayutthaya province on 25 June 2010.
