The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) and the Transport Company Limited have increased their services for people who wish to return to their home towns this weekend to vote in the election.

Head of SRT Public Relations Department Ms Nuananong Wongchan said the SRT executives have endorsed the extension of the free rail policy for another 4 months to be applied on 172 compartments. It is expected to begin tomorrow and ends on 31 October 2011.

From tomorrow until next Monday, the SRT will increase train services and more trips could be considered if there is a large number of passengers leaving Bangkok for the election in their constituencies.

Meawhile, the Transport Company will increase 30 more of bus services in every route. There will be buses taking passengers out of the capital city 3,000 trips per day.
