Core leader of the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) Sondhi Limthongkul has acknowledged his charges related to the 2008 airport seizure while the prosecutor has set a hearing for 8 July.

Mr Sondhi today reported himself to investigative officials at the Crime Suppression Division to acknowledge charges stemming from his leading role during the PAD’s seizure of Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang Airports in late 2008. However, he denied all allegations. The officials then immediately escorted the PAD core leader to seek the prosecutor’s indictment. The hearing has been scheduled for 8 July at 10.00 hrs.

During an interview, Mr Sondhi expressed disapproval of the Pheu Thai Party’s campaign policy to enact an amnesty law if it was selected to be the new government. He was also unsurprised by former executive of the Assets Scrutiny Committee Kaewsan Atibodhi’s objection to the amnesty concept, claiming that he was obviously on the opposite side to Pheu Thai.

In response to the police’s plan to request the PAD to dismantle its infamous billboard for the ‘No Vote’ campaign, Mr Sondhi pointed out that since the voting ballot also contained a no-vote box, the campaign and all of its billboards should be permitted.
