Security at Suvarnabhumi International Airport will be maximized in order to ensure the safety of passengers and enhance their confidence after many airports and airlines around the world have tightened their security measures.

Suvarnabhumi Airport Spokesperson Wilaiwan Natwilai stated that although the security at the airport remains at the second highest among the four levels and the measure focusing on intelligence and inspection of airlines will be intense to ensure passengers’ confidence.

The spokesperson announced that luggage inspection will also be conducted more frequently; elaborating that one out of every 10 bags will be inspected randomly, up from the earlier ratio of one in every 15.

Many airports and airlines worldwide are tightening security measures for fear of revenge and terrorism in the wake of the death of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
