All airlines at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport have resumed normal operations after riots in Bangkok and many parts of Thailand over the past few days threatened to halt air travel.

Suvarnabhumi Airport General Manager, Nirandra Theeranartsin, said all flights from the airport have been resumed after several were cancelled during the recent riots throughout Thailand. Some 29,000 passengers arrived at the air terminal today alone.

The manager continued to say that the airport will maintain strict Level 3 security, assuring all passengers inside would be secure.

Mr Niranda made known that passengers can travel at night despite the curfew period from 21.00 to 05.00 hrs by presenting their passports and boarding passes to officers upon inspection.

Usage of Suvarnabhumi has dropped by 50%, a decrease from 120,000-130,000 to 60,000 people per day following the violent clashes between troops and supporters of the anti-government United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship.
