Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban is prepared to discuss with China and Laos over the country’s first high-speed railway linking the three countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban stated prior to his recent visit to China to attend the World congress on speed train and conference. He would take this opportunity to discuss with his counterparts from China and Laos the issue of the high-speed train project which would link the three countries’ borders together.

According to Suthep, the project is a planned joint venture between Thailand and China. Thailand would stand to benefit from the project, given China’s advanced technology and rail management knowledge. Once completed, this high-speed train would travel at the speed of 200 kilometer per hour. However, some differences needed to be ironed out and details finalized in order for the project to kick off next year.

The project would greatly contribute to boosting up the tourism sectors of the three countries, as well as making transportation between nations more accessible.
