Foreign tourists residing around the rally sites have started checking out from hotels after the current political tension became intense.

Foreign visitors are reportedly trying to make their ways out from the crisis zones by gradually starting to checkout from hotels for fear of unexpected incidents. The Tourists Assistance Center of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has suggested them to contact Call Center 1555 for reliable and professional assistance.

The confrontation between troops of the government and supporters of the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) around Silom road, Ratchaprasong intersection especially at Bon Kai community, has turned tense with a rising number of casualties.

Thirty-five deaths and 244 injuries from violent scuffles were reported from 14 to 16 May 2010.
